About Me
My interest in high voltage devices began as a child after becoming enthralled with the mad scientist apparati in Universal's Frankenstein movies. In 1960, when I was 9 years old, a classmate of mine introduced me to the Edmund Scientific catalog & lo and behold, a Tesla coil was offered. It would be three years later until I begged my parents to get it for me as a Christmas present in 1964. The next year I built the Big TC based on the July 1964 Popular Electonics article. Now as a retired electrical engineer, I've got all the time in the world to play in my lab, focusing on both large and small high voltage generators. Having made may friends at the various Teslathons, and purchase of a beefed up 700 kV VDG from Fred, my interest has also been in the direction of mentoring others with similar interests. Thank-you!
